Yes, you can use this Edge controller to develop any IoT application which is based on machine monitoring for analytics purposes in real-time while in case your application requires any specific communication protocols likes Serial, Modbus RTU/TCP IP or other enabled to fetch data & control devices then our technical team will customize the kit as per your application requirement before sending.
2. What will be the production plan once I am done with POC?
After POC, based on your project/product requirement, dashboard will be fully customized and redesigned quickly to achieve informative details and other important product-level parameters.
3. Do I need to write code for running my IoT projects?
No, you don’t need to write even a single line of code for running any of your IoT projects. 4. Can I connect the MachineWiz IoT Edge controller through the internet via Wi-Fi and GSM?
Yes, you can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi & GPRS 3G,4G (optional) but only one at a time.
5. Will I be charged for cloud for my POC? or how long I will be able to access the platform?
As long as you will be running POC, no charges will be applicable for cloud or mobile applications whereas, for commercial applications, we have a fix pricing model.
6. How will I get my project mobile application?
Once you complete building your project through the platform then you will get the link from where you can download your project-specific mobile application.
7. What if I want to integrate the MachineWiz IoT Edge controller with any other IoT platform?
Yes, you can integrate to 3rd party IoT platform along with IoTWiz team assistance.
8. Will I be able to customize my IoT project?
Yes, you can customize your IoT project anytime, anywhere through the platform and view the same changes either on your dashboard or mobile application.
9. What if I want this MachineWiz to be customized based on my product requirement in terms of hardware size, design, logic or mobile app UI or any other platform integration?

10. How do you collect the data from PLC or machine controller?
There are two aspects of collecting data from machines:
- Collect data using I/O pins of PLC/Controller
- Collect data using protocols like OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, etc.
The data collection method completely depends on the type of machine.
11. Does this system work with Non-PLC legacy machines as well?
Yes, it works with any PLC/Non-PLC machines.
12. What pre-requisite are required?
We need machine availability (30-60 mins) with an internet connectivity with couple of sites/ports bypassed through the company’s firewall (if any) that’s it.
13. How secure this system is?
At every level of data communication right from machine-to-device, device-to-server and server-to-front end we take care of security very seriously with industry grade of encryption.
14. What if internet goes off?
In case of unavailability of internet, device can act as a data logger and store data up to 3 months which can be retrieved once the internet comes back to the cloud without loss of any data.
15.What is the costing model of this system?
Standard costing model comprised of CAPEX to buy one time hardware & OPEX for the platform & apps continuous (24X7) remote access.
16. Explain the data level security?
All data transfer is encrypted – whether from Machine to IoT Device to Server to Mobile App/Dashboard, absolutely nothing goes over the network or locally without encryption. UMM uses 256-bit AES and supports TLS 1.2 for all of your messages. We monitor the security community’s output closely and work promptly to upgrade the service to respond to new vulnerabilities as they are discovered.
17. Where is Data-Centre?
Our servers are located in Amazon’s AWS data centres. UMM uses four availability zones within AWS’ us-east-1 region, all located in Mumbai (India). AWS has devoted an entire portion of their site to explaining its security measures, which you can find here: https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/
18. Service LeveAgreemetns (SLA) offered?
We guarantee that UMM will be available 99.5% of the time during office hours in a given billing cycle. Unavailability means that UMM returns a server error response to a valid user request or data stored with UMM becomes inaccessible during two or more consecutive 90-second intervals. Unavailability due to scheduled maintenance is excluded from these conditions and does not contribute towards unavailability calculations.
19. Describe storage architecture?
All UMM customer data is hosted on multi-master shared databases so that there are no interruptions to service in the event of a single server outage. Hot spares of all our infrastructure components are running and available to be brought into rotation at all times.
